A local phenomenon in Belfast, Northern Ireland – playing nightly residencies at some of Belfast's hottest venues - and a much respected singer, songwriter and guitarist, the buzz around Lee Rogers' music is so refreshingly natural is it any wonder he has been courted by record companies from all over?
With musical influences including Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and James Taylor, Lee Rogers' brand of blues-laced acoustic rock has the distinctive charm of fellow countrymen Van Morrison and Paul Brady while remaining uniquely his own. A live set, either solo acoustic or with the musicians he works with regularly, combines heart stopping vocals, super slick acoustic guitar work and showcase an incredible penchant for story telling within his songs.
As a singer-songwriter his talent is for painting pictures with music. A naturally restless character, Lee is diversely travelled and he draws on his own experiences and the world around him to deliver stories that appeal, not only to the ear, but also to the heart, with killer turns of phrase, and a deliverance that will keep a song in your head for days.
Already with music on the forthcoming Myriad Pictures, 'The River King' feature film, due for a worldwide release this year, Lee's album out in 2006 looks set to transfer him to the biggest stage of all.
